Seeds planted on 1st of March, ‎2021. The first sign of germination was on the 24th of March. Asparagus can take anywhere between 14 to 30 days and more to germinate depending on how old and viable the seeds are.

Asparagus plants can quickly become root-bound and stunt or slow their growth and although they can tolerate compact containers for optimal growth this would be a good time to transfer them into a larger container to keep the growing process moving along.

Asparagus prefers well-drained soil with a ph between 6.5 and 7.0, also asparagus plants need 1 to 2 inches of watering per week. But what you should consider is that asparagus is a perennial vegetable,  which means once you plant it will die back during the winter and come back just before spring in the next year a definite good reason to start planting your seeds.

Does asparagus regrow after cutting? The answer is yes because perennial plants return year after yearAsparagus is a somewhat heavy feeder and needs all the food that it can get in order to build strong spears the following year.

It takes three to four years for an asparagus plant to come to maturity to be able to annually harvest the last four to six weeks. Until then, one must harvest sparingly.
